Peugeot Bipper Tepee
- Low running costs,
- Sliding side doors for simple access,
- Usefully large boot,
- Easy to drive and park,
- Economical engines
Being one of the smallest MPVs on the market the Peugeot Bipper Tepee is the direct competitor to Citroens Nemo. With a boxy design, and large boot the van origins of this vehicle are clear.
Design
With wide wheel arches, and a bulky front face the Bipper Tepee isn’t the most luxurious car you’ll ever see. However, the practicality of this small MPV makes up for its lack in looks.
The inside aesthetics continue to match its van-based ancestry with grey plastics and hard-wearing materials, providing a rugged and robust feel.
Space
Like most multipurpose vehicles the Bipper Tepee offers ample space within the cabin. However, legroom can feel a little cramped compared to other cars in the same class.
Headroom is generous for occupants and those in the back benefit from a good view outside, thanks in part to the raised rear seats.
The boot offers an ample 356-litre capacity which is quite generous given the smaller stature of the car. Folding the rear seats will more than double space, making it 737-litres. Access to the boot is through the tall and wide tailgate which is perfect for getting bigger items in.
For the Driver
Driver comfort is taken care of through a multitude of seat and steering wheel adjustments. Controls are easy to navigate, with all instruments clearly labelled.
Air conditioning comes as standard on the “Outdoor” model but is an extra for the “S” variant though it does provide suitable relief on hot days and long trips.
Safety
The Peugeot Bibber Tepee hosts several safety features including:
- Twin front airbags
- Driver and passenger side airbags
- Seatbelt pre-tensioners
- ISOFIX child seat mounting points
With great all-visibility and a flat tailgate, parking in even the tightest spots are a breeze, made even easier with the optional rear parking sensors.
Engine Efficiency
Despite its apparent lack of aerodynamics, the Bipper Tepee is economical and quite cheap to run; in part due to its smaller size.
The HDI range of engines is an excellent choice for anyone looking for an efficient and environmentally friendly option.
With the diesel averaging 63mpg and emitting roughly 119g/km of CO2 it’s one of the cheapest to tax at £20-£30 a year.
The petrol is a little less efficient, averaging a CO2 total of 155g/km and economy of 43mpg.
Our take on the Peugeot Bipper Tepee
When it comes to reliability, the Bipper Tepee is a good choice. All its parts have proven their worth in a multitude of vehicles including several from Citroen and Fiat.
The boot space is perfectly adequate for most despite being smaller than other cars in the same class. And the lighter weight makes it an excellent option for anyone looking for a cheap to run, multipurpose vehicle.
Given the lacklustre power produced from the engine options are a little disappointing, but power isn’t its purpose.
Starting a journey can be a tad noisy, requiring a higher-rev count to get going. However, once on the move road noise is barely noticeable.
