Charlie, the owner of Redcote Leisure Marlow, and I have had the pleasure of many micro-adventures in our micro camper with our puppy, Buddy. We have both always loved being away camping, for both the freedom and the adventure. Charlie has worked in the outdoor industry since leaving school, whereas I have a career in the emergency services and have this as my hobby and escape.

Our first Micro Adventure with Buddy was when he was 12 weeks old having only been allowed out for his walks for two weeks, we used a Ford Grand Tourneo Connect Micro Camper. We went to the Isle of Wright for two nights. We set the camper up in around an hour and then was set and ready to go. Buddy was bouncing all over the place in complete excitement but loved every moment of it. For the first break Buddy stayed with us on the bed in the camper, where I slept, my partner Charlie slept of whom is 6ft3, very comfortably. We plugged in our electrics, had power for the fridge, plug sockets and our cabin lights and then had our Kampa Tailgater Air Awning which housed an additional table, two collapsible chairs and ALL of Buddy’s toys! The micro camper allowed great flexibility, when we left the campsite for the day going to explore the island (leaving the awning in situ), it was easy to park at all the sites as it is the size of a conventional hatchback, this allowed our time to explore the beaches and island wonders with Buddy in tow.Our second Micro Camper was in a Peugeot Partner Tepee Micro Camper. This adventure was one of a self-sufficient nature with Buddy now at 16 weeks. This time we did not go as far but when down to Wiltshire to a pop-up campsite. This pop-up campsite offered no electric, but this was no challenge for us as we were equipped with a solar panel. We arrived to set up as before and still had all the electrical items such as the fridge, plug sockets and cabin lights but now running from the solar energy rather than hook up electrics. We opted for Buddy to stay in his crate in the Kampa Tailgater Air Awning for this break as he is getting a lot bigger and it was an extremely hot weekend, the crate fitted in with our living arrangements just as before.

In all honesty, we have had some of the best breaks away in our Micro Camper, I thought myself it may be too small but I find that everything has its place and we have more room than we ever did before in our converted transit custom. I couldn’t recommend them more, you will see from our photos in relation to our trips, holidays and adventures but please don’t hesitate to call or email Redcote Leisure Marlow and we can talk through what we found works for us and how to make it perfect for you!

We look forward to hearing from you.

Honor, on behalf of the Redcote Leisure Marlow.

Look out for Buddy’s next Adventure
